   ‘‘Together it works’’

RESULTS:

  • To prepare a Market Research Report including any national frameworks of certification related to the hotel and tourism sector;

  • To provide comprehensive support in English, Slovenian, Dutch, Bulgarian, Polish and Turkish through website development and manuals;

  • An online system for registration of assessment, issuance and authenticity of certificates in (all languages of) partner countries;

  • Up to 6 national THESS centers in partner countries;

  • A training manual for facilitators in (all languages of) partner countries;

  • Train 20 teachers to become supervisors;

  • Make a new qualification manual available in 6 languages;

  • Issue up to 200 certificates within 2 years;

The lack of a practical European standard for qualifications for the hotel and tourism sector, which are cost and time efficient and available to a wide range of potential users.

Purpose: The THESS project builds on the INGOT project that ended in 2012 with the condition, that the European standard for recognized qualifications be supported. So far, there are few diploma 'providers', offering EQF (European Qualification Framework) levels on nationally inclusive recognized qualifications. The THESS project aims to transfer this INGOT innovation to the hotel and tourism sector, as well as help new EU member states understand the EQF and demonstrate how formal and informal learning can be achieved at low cost and on a large scale. The impact of the project is to directly support EU citizens with particularly socially disadvantaged groups and citizens of younger ages, to facilitate vocationally related qualifications and personal development. This is supported by improvements in quality through innovation in vocational education systems and on-the-job practice.
