MOTIVATION: On both the Flemish and the Dutch labor market, there is a serious shortage of technical workers. This implies a serious economic threat to the companies who need these people like; smaller profitability, less ability to innovate, production problems, a decrease in customer satisfaction, structurally more overtime of employees and a lower quality of service. It is remarkable that very few companies undertake concrete actions to tackle these problems in the labor market.

PURPOSE: Make it possible, through recruitment, screening, training and supervision of technicians and specific maintenance technicians to lead them to the labor market and strengthen their position business wise.

RESULTS:

  •  Give better interpretation to the maintenance technician in industrial companies (manufacturing, service companies, machine manufacturers, specialized maintenance,) in the regions cooperating;

  •  Ensure better interpretation of maintenance technicians;

  •  Train maintenance technicians on a competence and practical manner resulting in a broadening and deepening of their knowledge. In this way, they are taken to a higher level and are more versatile;

  •  A better integration of theory and practice into existing practical training (mainly in Zeeland);

  •  For the "maintenance" part realize completely new teaching materials (mainly in Flanders);

  •  Recruit Jobseekers;

  •  Realize training and retraining for the function of maintenance technician and  in that matter meet the labor shortage.
